The Pratt paper mill in Shreveport, La., is spearheading efforts to help local businesses and residents both conserve water AND protect the environment.

At the request of city leaders, Pratt is testing the viability of using “gray water” – or treated wastewater – to help cool machinery and hydraulic systems at the mill, thereby eliminating the need for freshwater.
